Light, bright and breezy

Working closely with a talented team of home builders and real estate agents, we captured the appeal of an artfully crafted living space that highlighted the best of the surrounding environment.

Project background

I collaborated with up-and-coming designer/builders Plexera and the Property Boulevard real estate team to showcase this Palm Springs-inspired family home on the fringes of Spring Mountain Forest Park, south of Brisbane. Through successive shoots, I documented the project’s evolution from the framing stage to the professionally styled state just before the property hit the market.

Project managers Michael and Joshua carefully positioned the home on the greenfield site to maximise natural light and breezes. The open-plan spaces, large windows, and glass screen doors foster a sense of connection with the surrounding parkland and bush.

Upon entering, the large kitchen, double-height void, and minimally engineered staircase create a sense of vast open space. A light colour palette of whites and beiges, complemented by natural timber tones in the flooring and cabinetry, adds a crisp and clean aesthetic.

Rounded elements on the kitchen benches, bathtubs, and wall-hung mirrors, complemented by fluted finishes throughout the kitchen and bathroom surfaces, add complexity and interest to the minimalist design. Complete with an alfresco area overlooking the sparkling feature pool, the result is an architectural achievement that combines comfortable family living with ample entertainment opportunities.

Showcasing the space

Capturing the property’s unique style and selling points within a cohesive, engaging visual narrative required thoughtful creativity. Here’s how we did it:

Timelapsed to perfection

The property’s ideal north-facing aspect and complementary light-filled design were conveyed through establishing timelapse shots. This method – stitching together hundreds of still photos into a video – compresses several hours of action into a few seconds, artistically depicting the movement of clouds or shifting shadows and light.

Sound decisions

The opening sequences are scored with sparing piano and sustained synth, evoking warmth and nostalgia to heighten the sense of connection to this stunning family home. As the video progresses, the mood is lifted by blending in a livelier track in the same key. This seamless sonic transition creates a shift in emotional tone, adding complexity and contrast to engage the audience’s interest.

The tricks in our bag

The added x-factors heat things up like a nuclear reactor.

Aerial shots with animated callouts

A bird’s-eye perspective highlighting the property’s location.

Motion that moves you

Combining dynamic roll and tilt axis camera movement with fast transitions to inject extra excitement into the edit.

Reels with feel

A fast-paced curation of quick cuts and split-screen effects optimised for eyeballs on your social media feeds.

Making your project the feelgood hit of the season
