When a leading Brisbane agent aimed to shoot for the stars, I elevated the production value, crafting a visual showcase brimming with aesthetics and emotion.
25 Mandalay Street, Fig Tree Pocket
Project background
When rising star in the prestige property market, Zac Fields, asked for something special to showcase an upcoming riverfront listing, I seized the opportunity to create a cinematic piece worthy of the 3-storey architectural home. Inspired by its expansive use of floor-to-ceiling windows and louvres, which maximised the living area’s north-eastern aspect and offered views of the pool and river, I set my alarm for a sunrise shoot to capture the morning light sure to captivate potential buyers. Featuring two actors portraying a couple, we intensified the emotion, inviting viewers to envision themselves as the home’s owners, while intriguingly advancing the narrative.
Crafting the narrative
Given the green light to go all out, I tapped into a wealth of cinematic techniques to infuse the production with elegance, emotion, and impact. Here are a few of the highlights:
Acting up
Casting actors who embody the aspirations of target buyers adds a deeper cinematic dimension to the video, evoking the property’s endless potential and heightening the emotional impact.
Audio appeal
Scoring the establishing shots of the river and sunrise views with minimally fresh electronica, the soundtrack dynamically shifts to a funky vocal number about a third of the way through. I overlaid foley sound effects – the gentle hum of a motorboat, birdsong, the splash of a swimmer’s dive into the pool – to enhance the cinematic impact.
Phoning in the results
After a month-long marketing campaign, the property sold for $2.7 million – $300K above the previous street record. The video helped generate:
10,686 online views
48,202 social views
64 buyer inspections
46 enquiries
Pulling out all the stops
Some crowd pleasers we regularly roll out to add magic and heighten the impact.
Drone home
Piloting top-of-the-range drones (relying on joystick skills honed by thousands of hours playing video games), we are ideally positioned to capture the property’s natural surrounds and external features.
A human touch
Working with on-screen talent is more than just point and shoot. Careful deliberation on prop use, physical movement, and actor direction are essential to creating a continuous and compelling product.
TikTok, it's time to get Insta-famous...
The cherry on top of all that cinematic sweetness – a short, punchy reel optimised for those all-important socials.
The inception connection
Combining silky smooth camera moves and advanced post-production techniques, we’ve created a signature transition that quite literally takes the viewer through the looking glass.
